“I am now a Workhouse Associate Artist showing in Building W16”
How I work
When I paint in my studio as opposed to “plein air” painting outdoors, I will work from one of my own photographs that I have taken. Sometimes I take reference shots of the sunlight at a particular time of the day or the cast of a shadow on my subject. Sometimes, I actually shoot compositions that I would like to paint. But the photographs are always a way to help me remember what it was that caught my eye on location somewhere. Often, I will even play music to re-create the feeling or mood of a particular place!
